CWG day 6: Crucial for India

 India's attempts to continue at the second position in the medals tally will get a huge challenge from England and Canada as both these countries have reduced their gap with the hosts considerably. After Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati crashed out in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event, India rests its hope on Sania Mirza as she faces Anastasia Rodionova in the Women's singles final today. Both the men's and women's hockey team will continue their race for the Gold today. 
CWG day 6: Crucial for India

On day 6 India secured an unexpected bronze in the men's 20km walk to start day six of their Commonwealth Games' campaign when Harminder Singh finished third. It was soon followed by another bronze from the men's table tennis team that beat Nigeria in the third-place play-off. Shooter Omkar Singh won gold in 10m air pistol event to take India's gold tally to 20. 

Wrestler Anita won gold in women's 67kg freestyle event. Alka Tomar won second gold in women's wrestling when she won the 59kg freestyle event. Alka beat Tonya Verbeek of Canada in the final while Tega Richard of Nigeria won the bronze. Earlier, shooter Vijay Kumar won gold in singles 25m rapid fire pistol men, while Gurpreet Singh won the bronze. Indian shooters Gagan Narang and Imran Hassan Khan also won gold in men's 50 meter rifle 3 positions. The Indian pair set up a news Games record.

Today, in Wrestling, India will hope to break more records as there are 3 Gold medals are at stake today. India's Yogeshwar Dutt, Narsingh Pancham Yadav and Anil Mann will be seen fighting for Gold in the Freestyle 60kg, Freestyle 74kg, Freestyle 96kg finals (Men's) respectively.In Weightlifting, Monika Devi and Srishti Singh will be competing in the 75 kg Women's category.
